This site was built using Macromedia Dreamweaver. Some portions of our site have been developed using other portions of Macromedia Studio MX, including Fireworks, Flash, Freehand.
This site uses valid XHTML (extensible hypertext markup language). XHTML is an industry standard markup language for developing websites. XHTML utilizes established HTML (hypertext markup language) guidelines and incorprerates XML (extensible markup language) to create a markup language readable by older industry standard browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator while adding support for new platforms such as mobile phones and PDAs.
We are in the process of moving to XHTML 1.1, developing a privacy policy, and improving our accessibility to meet W3C standards. Work on these projects is expected to be completed in 2004. Conclusion of these projects will enable us to be more accessible to all of our users.
This site uses valid CSS stylesheets. CSS stylesheets allow for more complex and adaptable site designs than using plain HTML or XHTML. Some CSS styles are too new for some older broswers, such as Internet Explorer 3.x and Netscape Navigator 4.x. If you are having trouble viewing The Eagle Online, you may need to update your browser.
The print edition of The Eagle is printed in broadsheet format. Printing is contraced through The Sun Advocate.
