Web access
Staff members of The Eagle and The Eagle Online may access e-mail via this link to SquirrelMail, The Eagle's Internet browser-based e-mail. In addition, we have implemented a developmental e-mail interface, called RoundCube. It is accessible using this link. Web access is the only access for students wishing to access a @eagle.ceu.edu account from a location off-campus. User names and passwords are the same as used to log into workstations in the college newsroom.
IMAP (using an e-mail client)
Students with personal computers located on a CEU campus (in Price, Blanding, etc.) may access their e-mail using the IMAP protocol. You may use a client such as Evolution, Outlook, Thunderbird, Outlook Express or Apple Mail.
Currently, we do not allow access using the POP3 protocol. All connections to the mail server must be made using a client that supports IMAP. Use the following settings:
E-mail address: your e-mail address (ex: j.doe@eagle.ceu.edu)
Incoming/IMAP mail server: eagle.ceu.edu
Username: your user name (ex: j.doe)
Password: the password you use for machines in the newsroom
Outgoing/SMTP mail server: eagle.ceu.edu
Note: To send mail you will need to set your e-mail client to use authentication. This is usually in an advanced settings area marked with a phrase such as "My server requires authentication."
Settings within the various e-mail clients vary. As such, no detailed instructions are available at this time.
Contact webmaster@eagle.ceu.edu for more information.
